Synthesis of Benzo[1,4]thiazines via Ring Expansion of 2-Aminobenzothiazoles with Terminal Alkynes Under Metal-Organic Framework Catalysis

Copper-organic framework Cu-MOF-74 was synthesized, and consequently utilized as a heterogeneous catalyst for the synthesis of benzo[1,4]thiazines via ring expansion of 2-aminobenzothiazoles with terminal alkynes. Different from previous works, the reaction proceeded readily in the presence of lower catalyst concentration, at lower temperature, and under ligand-free conditions. The combination of 5 mol% framework catalyst, 20 mol% Cs2CO3, and 3 equivalents of di-tert-butyl peroxide led to high yields of benzo[1,4]thiazines. This copper-based framework demonstrated higher catalytic efficiency than a series of MOF-based heterogeneous catalysts and traditional homogeneous catalysts. In this system, the donation of soluble active copper species to the formation of benzo[1,4]thiazines was trivial. The copper-organic framework was reutilized without a remarkable decline in catalytic efficiency. Structural Modifications of Surfactant-Assisted Alumina and Their Effectiveness for the Removal of Dyes

The current study focuses on the development of the modified surface of the alumina by anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate. The synthesized Surfactant Modified Alumina (SMA) effectively associated with dye molecules and amended their properties. The triphenylmethane (CBB) and thiazine dyes (MB) were selected as a simulated dye wastewater system. The removal was carried out by adsorption method under the optimized amount of adsorbent dosage, the concentration of adsorbate, contact time and temperature. The adsorption isotherm models like Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin Radushkevish were employed. The mechanism of the interaction represents the decolorized leuco dye molecules were formed after adsorption. Moreover, the thermodynamic parameters like (Delta S degrees), (Delta H degrees) and (Delta G degrees) were calculated represents the endothermic and spontaneous nature of the adsorption process. The pH at the point of zero charges (pHPZC) was determined. The photocatalytic degradation of respective dye systems was also observed. The surface morphology of (SMA) was determined by FT-IR and SEM techniques. Whereas the pseudo second order kinetics model was followed in the present system. The Pearson correlation Coefficient was conjointly applied. The removal efficiency was ascertained to be 99.50% for CBB(R-250) and 95.70% for (MB).

Dipyrimido[4,5-b:5,4-e][1,4]thiazine: synthesis and their enzyme inhibitory activity assessment on soybean 15-lipoxygenase

A series of new derivatives of dipyrimido[4,5-b:5,4-e][1,4] thiazine were synthesized by treatment of 5-amino-6-methyl-2-morpholino-4-pyrimidinethiol (1) with 5-bromo-2,4-dichloro-6-methylpyrimidine (2) in the presence of triethylamine and ethanol and subsequently with various secondary amines in EtOH/DMF. The thioether derivative 3 and heterocyclization products 4a-f were characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic techniques. The 15-LO inhibitory activities of the new synthesized compounds were also evaluated. The results show that compound 4e has the best IC50 of 15-LO inhibition (IC50 = 14.4 A mu M) but when all the products were theoretically docked into 15-LO, the GOLD scores of compounds 4e and 4d are 43.67 and 43.39 respectively, which show the best results. We suggest that the hydrogen bond interaction between Ser489 of 15-LO and the nitrogen of piperazine ring of compound 4e appears to play major role in lipoxygenase inhibition.

Synthesis and Characterization of Some New Bis-Pyrazolyl-Thiazoles Incorporating the Thiophene Moiety as Potent Anti-Tumor Agents

A new series of 1,4-bis(1-(5-(aryldiazenyl)thiazol-2-yl)-5-(thiophen-2-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)benzenes 3a-i were synthesized via reaction of 5,5-(1,4-phenylene)bis(3-(thiophen-2-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-1-carbothioamide) (1) with hydrazonoyl halides 2a-i. In addition, reaction of 1 with ethyl chloroacetate afforded bis-thiazolone derivative 8 as the end product. Reaction of compound 8 with methyl glyoxalate gave bis-thiazolone derivative 10. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were established on the basis of spectroscopic evidences and their alternative syntheses. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their anti-tumor activities against hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cell lines, and the results revealed promising activities of compounds 3g, 5e, 3e, 10, 5f, 3i, and 3f with IC50 equal 1.37 +/- 0.15, 1.41 +/- 0.17, 1.62 +/- 0.20, 1.86 +/- 0.20, 1.93 +/- 0.08, 2.03 +/- 0.25, and 2.09 +/- 0.19 M, respectively.

Laccase mediator system obtained from a marine spore exhibits decolorization potential in harsh environmental conditions

Laccases play a significant role in remedying dye pollutants. Most of these enzymes are originated from terrestrial fungi and bacteria, thus they are not proper to be used in the environments with neutral/alkaline pH, or they may require laborious extraction/purification steps. These limitations can be solved using marine spore laccases through high stability and easy to use application. In the current study, laccase activity of the marine spore-forming Bacillus sp. KC2 was measured according to the guaiacol and syringaldazine oxidation. Abiotic stresses like pH of 6, temperature of 37 degrees C and 0.3 mM CuSO4 (in comparison with optimal sporulation conditions: pH of 8, temperature of 20 degrees C and 0.0 mM CuSO4) enhanced laccase formation in sporal coat. Maximum activity of enzyme was observed at 50 degrees C and pH 7, which did not change in the alkaline pH and temperature range of 20-70 degrees C. Results indicated ions, inhibitors and solvent stability of the enzyme and its activity were stimulated by Co2+, Mn2+, PMSF, acetone, acetonitrile, ethanol, and methanol. The spore laccase could decolorize synthetic dyes from various chemical groups including azo (acid orange, amaranth, trypan blue, congo red, and amido black), indigo (indigo carmine), thiazine (methylene blue, and toluidine blue), and triarylmethane (malachite green) with ABTS/syringaldazine mediators after 5 h. Degradation products were not toxic against Sorghum vulgare and Artemia sauna model organisms. The enzyme mediator system showed high potentials for dye bioremediation over a wide range of harsh conditions.

The corrosion inhibition of carbon steel in a 1.0 M HCl solution, using 4-amino-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-8-(2,3-dimethoxyphenyl)-6-oxo-2,6-dihydropyrimido[2, 1b][1,3] thiazine-3,7-dicarbonitrile (ACMPT) was investigated by weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and quantum chemical calculations. Polarization curves indicate that the studied compound was acting as a mixed inhibitor with predominant cathodic effectiveness. The inhibition efficiency decreased with an increased temperature, and the thermodynamic and activation parameters obtained from this study were discussed. The adsorption behavior of ACMT follows Langmuir’s isotherm. In addition, Density Function Theory (DFT) calculations were performed on the studied molecule. The theoretical parameters obtained from this method are in good agreement with the experimental results.
